Jurgen Klopp: A Great Dortmund coach, But what's next for the German?

A great manager who will be missed by Borrusia Dortmund. Jurgen Klopp earlier this week dropped a bombshell that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season, and will not be seeing out his entire contract which expires in 2018. It was a mutual decision by both parties.

Irrespective of the season that Dortmund is currently having, sitting tenth in the table. This news would have come to a shock for all the Dortmund supporters but at the same would have definitely alerted many European clubs at the same time to snatch him up. I'm sure many clubs would be already approaching him the minute he announced his exit from Dortmund.

Jurgen Klopp has an impressive record as a coach, and many top European teams wanted to sign him last season itself. The likes of Manchester United were keeping tabs on the German coach as they just sacked David Moyes and other many clubs were also showing some interest in the Dortmund coach.

Jurgen Klopp has always been that type of coach who can develop young talent and bring the best out of players. His passionate attitude towards the players and fans is what makes him a great coach, his ability to read the game is phenomenal. The likes of Goetze's and Lewandowski's and Kagawa's who were talented as it is, but Klopp was able to make them world class.

Before he took the managerial position at Dortmund, he was the coach of FC Mainz. Formerly a player for FC Mainz after retiring he took up the coaching role. Klopp spent seven years as manager for the club from 2001 up till 2008. In his managerial time at Mainz he led them to their first appearance at the Bundesliga, also helped them qualify for 2005-2006 UEFA Cup. But at the 2006-2007 season FC Mainz were relegated but Klopp still managed the side, however the following season he resigned as they were not able to achieve promotion.

Having resigned from Mainz, Klopp was approached by Borussia Dortmund to be the club's manager. And he took it up,Dortmund were always a good team with rich history having won 8 Bundesliga titles, 3 German Cups, 5 Super cups and 1 Champions League trophy in 1997.  But before Klopp took over the club they were just finishing in mid table and not looking the formidable team that we see today.

In his mangerial time as Dortmund, he still has a few games left to coach. He has coached 311 games for Dortmund having won 176 games, lost 71 games and drawn 64 games. With a win percentage of 56.59%. Winning two Bundesliga titles back to back in the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 season. And winning one German cup in 2011-2012, and two German cups in 2013 & 2014, Also not to forget one Champions league runners up medal in the 2012-2013 season. Jurgen Klopp in his seven years has made this club restore it's former glory.

With announcing his exit of the club at the end of the season, only Klopp would know where he is headed next with a list of top European clubs after his signature, The likes of Manchester City and Arsenal. Manchester City would be the likely destination for the German as the current City boss Manuel Pellegrini is under fire for his recent performances for City.

The bad season that Dortmund is having at the moment cannot be blamed entirely on Jurgen Klopp, it must boil down to the players too and also the management who failed to buy any marquee players after the departures of Goetze and Lewandowski. And with many players injured this season it made it even more tough for the Dortmund coach. But knowing Klopp's attitude he will ensure that his players fight till the very end to see his side finish as high as possible in the table.

It's a new chapter now for the Dortmund coach and I'm sure he has put a lot of thought as to what he wants to do next and it'll only be a matter of time everybody in the footballing world knows and hears about it.
