EPL Match-Day 35 Preview

With 4 games left to play this season for teams and supporters to look forward too, each match now for the relegation-threatened sides are like cup finals, they have to stay focused if they want to look forward to playing next season in the English Premier League. And for some teams it's going to be a fight to hold on to their European dreams next season and for the rest just accumulate as much points as possible and finish strong. Let's take a look at the fixtures for match-day 35.

We kick start things off with an interesting fixture. The game between Leicester and Newcastle. One team playing with confidence and the other deflated and dejected. Leicester City four game winning streak cam to a halt midweek against the soon to be crowned champions Chelsea. And with Leicester boss unhappy with the reporters questions and taking a dig at him and later apologizing apart from that they seem to be the more confident side heading into this game. Whereas for Newcastle their losing streak continues extending their winning-less run to seven games and with interim boss John Carver arguing with fans things don't look good for them. It's going be a fighting game, end to end action. The last time these two sides met Newcastle were the winning side although this time it's going to be different.

Injuries for Newcastle:D Janmaat,R Elliott,R Aarons,J Alnwick,M Haidara,C Tiote,S Taylor
Injuries for Leicester: R Huth ,A King,J Schlupp,D Nugent

The fixture between Sunderland and Southampton, given the fixture the Black Cats have, they would looking at this fixture to get something out of it. It's been a poor season for them but the past few years they have always managed to fight relegation can they do the same this term also? Last week they played out a draw against Stoke City but surely Dick Advocaat will be scratching his head and wondering why his side failed to convert so many missed chances. Southampton on the other hand will be trying to break into the European spot. The Saints have been having a fine season playing their best football and on paper this fixture would definitely be in the Saints favor, but in football you never know what can happen and when a team who is playing to survive relegation it's hard to predict this game. The last time these two sides met Southampton destroyed Sunderland with a thumping 8-0 scoreline could we expect a similar result? or could we expect an upset?.

Injuries for Sunderland:S Fletcher,W Brown ,R Alvarez,E Giaccherini
Injuries for Southampton:D Tadic,M Schneiderlin,F Duricic,F Forster ,E Mayuka,J Rodriguez

The fixture between Swansea and  Stoke both teams with nothing to play for. Swansea would be pleased after setting a new record for most points accumulated in an EPL season, i guess they would be more interested in finishing as high as possible in the table. The same would apply to Stoke City and Mark Hughes too. The last times these two sides met Stoke City won narrowly.

Injuries for Swansea:J Montero,W Routledge,B Gomis ,K Naughton,T Carroll
Injuries for Stoke: C Adam-Late fitness test,G Cameron-Late fitness test,M Muniesa-Late fitness test,V Moses,B Krkic

The fixture between West Ham and Burnley. More focus will be on the struggling Burnley side rather than the Hammers. Burnley sit last in the table and will be looking to get something out of this game having squandered their opportunity against Leicester last week when they missed a spot kick chance. Sam Allardyce has admitted he his disappointed with the position in the table his side is at ,but nevertheless it has been a fruitful season for the Hammers and they do play pretty well at home. A loss for Burnley would make it harder for them to fight for survival in this league. The last time these two sides met.West Ham came out as the winning side.

Injuries for West Ham:A Song,W Reid,G Demel,D Sakho,J Tomkins,A Carroll
Injuries for Burnley:S Vokes -Late fitness test,D Marney,K Long

The Fixture between Liverpool and QPR a tough fixture for the Hoops who have struggled on their away matches and they could be the whipping boys when they visit Anfield, as Liverpool have achieved only point in their last two games. QPR sit in eighteenth place with twenty seven points and it's looks like their chances of getting anything out of this game are slim to none. The last time these two sides met it was a thriller with the Merseyside snatching a late winner can we expect another one?

Injuries for Liverpool: J Flanagan,M Balotelli,L Leiva,D Sturridge,M Sakho
Injuries for QPR: M Zarate-Late fitness test,B Zamora-Late fitness test,A Traore,M Doughty,R Ferdinand-Late fitness test,E Vargas,A Faurlin

The fixture between Aston Villa and Everton, both teams faced the Manchester sides last week with Everton winning convincingly against Manchester United and Aston Villa losing out narrowly to Manchester City in a five goal thriller. Everton with pretty much nothing to play for would be looking to just get three points Villa on the other hand will be looking to get some points in their upcoming fixtures to move away from the relegation zone and into the safety zone. Villa will be depending on Benteke to be their saving grace. The last time these two sides met Everton won the match convincingly.

Injuries for Aston Villa:G Agbonlahor,N Baker,C Clark,A Hutton,C Herd,L Kozák
Injuries for Everton: B Oviedo,S Pienaar-Late fitness test,D Gibson,T Hibbert-Late fitness test

We end Saturday with Manchester United taking on West Brom. The last two games for United have ended in losses even though in both the games United were dominating in possession the scoreline showed otherwise. Manchester United would be happy that skipper Rooney is available but they have  been faced with a blow ,Luke Shaw getting injured again and would likely miss the rest of the season. Manchester United have lost only twice at home and never lost three games in a row in the league and will looking to bounce back and cement their position in the top four. West Brom will be looking to cause an upset as they did last time when they played at Old Trafford. The last times these two sides met Daley Blind secured a point for United at the dying moments of the game.

Injuries for Manchester United:J Evans,L Shaw,Rafael,M Rojo,P Jones,M Carrick
Injuries for West Brom: B Foster

On Sunday we start things off with Chelsea taking on Crystal Palace a win for Chelsea will see them off as confirmed champions for this term and with the honors already pouring in for Chelsea with the Blues talisman Eden Hazard being awarded the PFA Player of the year for his 13 goals and 8 assists as of this season. Mourinho will be looking to secure winning the league this week irrespective of what the punters have been saying of Chelsea playing conservative and not flamboyant football. Crystal Palace will be looking to play party spoilers by trying to get something out of the game. The last time these two sides met Chelsea edged out a win and in all honestly would be looking to do the same again.

Injuries for Chelsea: D Costa, L Remy
Injuries for Crystal Palace: J Ward,F Campbell-Late fitnes test,M Chamakh-Late fitness test,J Thomas

We end things on Sunday with a cracker off a game between Tottenham and Manchester City. This fixture in recent games have always been high scoring and generally it's the Manchester side that's scoring most of them. Tottenham will be looking to upset the visiting City side so they can cement their place for next season European aspirations. Manchester City will not be looking to falter as United is ready to pounce on them being only a point behind them. The last time these two sides met Manchester City steamrolled the London side with Sergio Aguero scoring four goals in that game.

We end Match-Day 35 with relegation-threatened Hull City taking on Arsenal . Arsenal played out a draw last week against Chelsea which ruled them out of a slim contention to challenge for the title. Hull City on the other hand will be buzzing in confidence winning their last two games which has seen the side move out of the drop zone to 15th place with 34 points, however they are still not safe and will be banking on their home advantage to cause an upset like they did against Liverpool. The last times these two sides met they played out a scoring draw.
